Many people feel that we should be using more sources of green energy in order to protect the planet. There is a lot of research going on in this area because the carbon fuels used at the moment will eventually run out and alternatives will need to be found. Nuclear power is seen by some as a good alternative but many feel that it is not clean or safe and therefore not a good option.

This is why many people are looking towards solar power, wind power and water power to help. By using these resources to generate electricity we are not changing something which is already there. The wind blows, the sun shines and water flows along and if we choose to make use of the power that is produced from these processes it will not make much difference to the planet and most importantly will not harm it. Although solar panels and wind turbines are getting cheaper, they are still not always an option for everyone. Getting planning permission to put them up can be difficult and sometimes we do not have the space to put them.

Cost can be a problem and sometimes we do not live in the right area to get enough of these natural resources to make it worthwhile trying to collect the energy from them. It is likely that technology in this area will improve and that we will see more natural energy generating plants emerging meaning that the power provided to homes and businesses will be greener and cleaner. There is also a growing trend for new builds to be eco friendly and more people are adding solar panels to their houses. This is likely to continue as they grow in popularity and become more affordable for all.
