Many people do worry about the cost of implementing green products in our lives. Whether it is a person thinking about buying solar panels for their house or a company trying to get more green or even a government sorting out legislation.
There are measures that can be taken which will save us money in the long run, such as insulating the loft or using energy saving light bulbs. However, they can cost money initially which may be more expensive than other alternatives. It is great knowing that you can save money in the long run, but if you cannot come up with the initial investment then it is something which you cannot consider.
The governments are trying to fund green projects but there is a cost there as well which tax payers have to bear the burden of. It is great that they are providing help and many people see this as a big positive especially if they directly benefit from it. However, funding it out of your own pocket is a completely different thing. It can be difficult for people to see that these expenses will make a big difference especially when certain 'energy saving' devices have been reported as using more energy to produce than they actually save.
The good thing is that there is constant research going on into these things and so hopefully technology will improve. There is also a slow growth in popularity, which also means that prices should start to fall, as they have already begun to do. It seems that we will just have to bear it for a bit longer and then we will be able to hopefully find affordable and reliable solutions. In the meantime we will just have to trust our judgements and do what we feel is the right thing for us, our family, and the future of the planet.
